Goodnight Moon

Brown, M. W., & Hurd, C. (1991). Goodnight moon. New York, NY: HarperFestival.

Format: Board Book
Recommended Age:0+

This book follows a little bunny as he says goodnight to all of the things in his room. The sentences are short enough to understand from a young age, the book is visually appealing and interesting to young children. The short sentences promote early literacy as many of them start with the word 'And'. It helps young children recognize sight words from a young age. The pictures are full of primary colors, and switch between being close up and an overall view of the room. The pictures that are close up are black and white and the larger pictures are in color. The large pictures have a lot of detail for older children to look at. This is a great book to read before bed or nap.
