Mayer, M. (1983). Just go to bed. New York, NY: Golden Books.
Format: Soft Cover
Age:3+
This story follows Little Critter as he gets ready for bed. Like most children he plays pretend by dressing as many different characters. His father in an attempt to get him to bed, plays along with him. Little Critter dresses as a cowboy, an army man, a space cadet, sea monster, a zookeeper, a superhero, train engineer, a race car driver, and finally a bunny. Finally, his dad send the bunny to bed with the command "Just go to bed!" This is a relatable scenario for children and adults alike as most children are constantly playing pretend. Children will enjoy seeing what Little Critter pretends to be next. The images are appealing and children will enjoy seeing Little Critter's different outfits. This is a perfect story for reading prior to bedtime.
