Green Eggs and Ham

Seuss, D. (1960). Green eggs and ham. New York, NY: Beginner Books.

Format: Hardcover
Age: 4+

This rhyming Dr. Seuss book tells the story of Sam who is trying to convince his friend to try green eggs and ham. He proposes different situations in which he could possibly try the green eggs and ham and his friend continuously says no. At the end of the book he finally tries the green eggs and ham and figures out that he actually likes them. Children will love the typical Dr.Seuss rhyme scheme and it is a fun book to read because of the silly situations that Sam proposes. The illustrations showing the funny situations will be amusing for young children. Most of the words in this book are simple or sight words so this would be a good book for early readers. This would also be a great book for story time for older children due to it's length.
